Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

Product Description:
A feather light, oil free formula with an airy mousse texture that won’t feel heavy or greasy. Delivers all day shine control and blends flawlessly for a natural looking matte finish. Minimizes the appearance of pores. The weight is over – finally, shine has met its matte.

My friend was buying our orders from our online store and she showed me this foundation. I have been wanting to try this but I keep forgetting to ask her to buy me one. And so I immediately told her to pick a tube for me. The packaging is very cute. The product is stored in an easy to squeeze plastic tube. The white and purple combo is very appealing but one thing I didn’t like about it is, when I put it in my makeup bag with my other babies, I saw some scratches and dirt. I tried to clean it up using wipes but it won’t go away.

Anyways, this foundation comes in 11 available shades:

Light Porcelain

Light Ivory

Ivory

True Ivory

Soft Beige

Classic Beige

True Beige

Sand

Natural Beige

True Nude

Fair Ivory

That’s a pretty good variety of shades.

The shade my friend picked for me is soft beige which I instantly realized was a little light for my skintone. I may go with True Beige next time.

I did post a video on my Instagram showing the actual product’s color. When you look at the testers in the malls or wherever, do not be deceived by the color of the foundation when its fresh from the tube. Blend it at the back of your hand so you’d see how it would look like when blended because it becomes way lighter.

Applying this was very easy. I know it says mousse at the back of the tube but if you take a closer look at your face with this on, it looks a lot like a powder foundation. I strongly discourage 2nd coating because this i not buildable. It gets cakey when you apply more than one coating.

Also, I don’t recommend you using this if you have dry patches pn your face. It emphasizes dry patches and I guess it is because of its formula. I also didn’t put any setting powder on top because it will only make my dryness worse.

I’d say the coverage is medium. It is not very light at all. After applying it, it felt a little heavy on the face but throughout the day, it didn’t bother me at all. After 12 hours, it was not as heavy but it is still not very light.

What I love about this foundation is it stayed matte for the first 6 hours.

I do want to point out that it’s not 100% matte. There is a certain dewyness in it so when taking pictures with or without flash, it doesn’t look flat at all. It looks really amazing in natural light.

I am super pleased with this foundation. If I don’t have dry patches because of my recent Boracay vacay, this would probably be my fave by far.

I only blotted once the entire 12-hour period yesterday. I never felt super oily. Below is my end of day pic.

I would recommend this oily combination or oily skin. If your face is not dry at all, this would be perfect for you.

Tomorrow’s review will be @covergirl’s True Blend Foundation.
