I have to admit that I didn’t have a decent skincare routine in the past. Probably because I never had issues with acne, redness, etc. Or maybe because I didn’t realize the importance of taking care of your skin. As I grew older, I have learned to pay more attention to my skin.
The skincare world offers you a whole bunch of options nowadays – from whitening, moisturizing, soothing, healing, pore minimizing and God knows what else is out there. But it is still a constant battle for us women to find THE perfect products that work well with our skintype and will solve our skin issues.
My skincare routine may sound boring to other people and definitely not as entertaining and interesting to hear than other bloggers/vloggers. I just start off with a good facial wash/cleanser. Recently, I have been using Celeteque’s Acne Cleansing Gel. Click the link below to know why I love that product.
Then, I continue with a toner and finish it up with a night cream/moisturizer. That’s basically it!
I have tested many different toners in the past but I always end up not loving it because of the strong formula, not so pleasant smell, etc. But I may have found the perfect one for my sensitive combination skin.
Last month, I joined an event sponsored by Benefit Cosmetics PH.
One of the products in their loot bag is the Benefit’s Moisture Prep Toning Lotion. I didn’t know what it was because of its fancy name. I researched about it and found out that it is indeed a moisturizing toner. It came in a small, transparent glass tube with 8.9 ml /0.03 fl. oz. worth of product.
Since I haven’t emptied my current toner. It took me days to bother trying it out and when I did, I thank heavens for allowing #benefit to create this.
This is probably the best thing that ever happened to my dry-combination and sensitive skin. This toner soothes, doesn’t burn like other typical toners; it moisturizes , doesn’t dry your skin out and it smells so amazingly good.
The formula isn’t liquidy like other toners but not thick as well. It is so lightweight, non-oily and super hydrating!
How to apply
Prep your pretty complexion with a cleanse, then apply moisture prep toning lotion with a cotton pad over face & neck to boost the power of your moisturizer…and don’t rinse! Keep this toner in place for total radiance.
I just pour a little onto a cotton pad because a little goes a looooong way. Then, gently apply it on your freshly cleansed face and neck. let it dry before you apply your favorite moisturizer.
If you don’t have a cotton pad, you can also pour a little in the palm of your hand, spread it in your hands and pat it all over your face. That could work too!
I used this for 2 weeks before drafting this review just to make sure I have enough experience with it before blogging. Since I started using it, I noticed my dry patches disappeared and my skin never felt this soft and hydrated. I am sincerely more confident to get out of the house not wearing any foundation or concealer because it has minimized my blemishes. I am still yet to find out if it does reduce fine lines. I think it is still too early to tell.
The only downside that I can think of with this product is the pricetag. Its full size is 177.4 mL 6.0 US fl. oz. and is sold at $30 via the benefitcosmetics.com and P1700 (Phippine Peso) via sephora.ph . It is way pricier than other brands but for what it offers, I am definitely buying the full size. I swear by it! I am strongly recommending it to those who have dry to combination skin. If you have oily skin, this may not work as great as it did for me.
