It felt like looking at a Christmas tree with gazillion gifts under it.
It was my 1st time at Nordstrom and it was an overwhelming experience.
We don’t have Nordstrom in the Philippines so I got pulled into the store when I saw it at the Galleria mall in Dallas. It gave me a Rustan’s feel where you see expensive brands displaying their products in those glass cabinets. Only this one is way bigger and better.
I was like a little girl looking at the gifts under a Christmas tree and so confused which gift to open first. I took a deep breath and walked into one of the brands I am more familiar with – MAC. I looked at all the lipsticks on their 4 or 5 layer stand. All the bold colors are at the top tier, the reds are right next to it and the gorgeous nudes are at the tier closest to me and gosh! I want to swatch them all so bad.
I walked around and it felt like a dream. Crazy as it seems but it’s one of the little things that makes me feel better.
Bobbi Brown, NARS, Philosophy and many other brands are just sitting there waiting for makeup junkies, beauty world beginners and curious minds to pay them a visit. I was drawn into the Estée Lauder section. I saw their best sellers sitting pretty in a glass cabinet and in the corner of the store, I noticed a display that says “Gift with purchase”. I have been wanting to buy their most talked about Double Wear Foundation but I couldn’t seem to find the perfect shade for me. the beautiful lady in charge of the store then asked if I’d want her to shade match me. I said, Yes! of course. 🙂
She then used an amazing tool and kind of scanned my face. After a few seconds, she told me my shade. She even tried it on my jawline and my neck to make sure it matches. I fell in love with how the foundation looked on my face so I decided to buy one.
I wanted to explore the area more but we were meeting with friends for dinner so I will make sure to go back and walk around some more especially that Nordstrom provides little containers so you can get samples for brands you wanna try. Yes, even the fanciest and priciest ones. Well, that’s something to look forward to!
Anyways, let me share with you some pics of my Nordstrom mini haul from my quick visit at their branch in Dallas.
I got this for $42 + $3.47 sales taxes (around (P2250 in pesos). Which is still not bad compared to how much it retails in the Philippines. Not to mention, there are freebies.
The gift includes :
- a really pretty cosmetic bag (see photo of the bag below)
- 30-ml. Nutritious Radiant Vitality 2-in-1 Foam Cleanser
- 15-ml. Nutritious Vitality Radiant Moisture Creme
- Pure Color Envy Sculpting Eyeshadow Palette (9 shades)
- Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick (Intense Nude 130)
- Sumptuous Knockout Defining Lift and Fan Mascara
