My Nail Color is Gone in Seconds!

Sally Hansen Kwik Off Moisturizing Nail Polish Remover Review

I was never a huge fan of painting my nails. Primarily because it takes forever to dry and removing the polish is total pain in the ass.

It was only early last year when I started painting my nails again. I have discovered some brands that actually dry pretty fast. That made me happy. But that also made me in the lookout for the nail polish remover that’s perfect for the lazy girl that I am.

Acetone / alcohol-based removers usually make my fingers extremely dry and itchy. One of the things I am thankful for Korean / Japanese Skincare invading our malls is their nail polish removing pads. I have been using that for months which is why I get to paint my nails anytime I want and won’t need to deal with dry fingers.

But, there’s the big BUT!

Korean/Japanese skincare products are not as accessible here in the US, in Texas at least. You can find some on amazon but the prices are ridiculous. It’s usually thrice as much (Philippine price) or more. I just can’t!

It was one of the saddest days of my life here; I realized that I am about to run out of my removing pads from Mumuso. I didn’t have any choice but to hit the supermarket and look for something I can use moving forward.

I saw very familiar brands like Orly, Cutex and Sally Hansen but the rest are new to me. I was looking at the removing pads available but they all doesn’t scream my name. Then, I saw this Sally Hansen Kwik Off Moisturizing Nail Polish Remover.

The “moisturizing” part got me! As established earlier, I hate when my fingers or my hands feel so dry. I quickly googled the product and on their website their claim states:

The easiest, cleanest way to remove polish from dry, brittle nails.

Advanced, three-hole sponge design makes polish removal simple and fast. Advanced formula rapidly removes all traces of polish from your nails. Essential nutrients help promote healthy-looking nails and cuticles. Nails are left moisturized, healthy-looking and ready for their next nail treatment.

Since I want my nails to stay moisturized and healthy-looking and ready for the next nail treatment, I went ahead and bought a tub. Also, I have never tried this kind of nail polish remover so I was ready for a new nail adventure.

I was amazed the first time I used it. It was so freaking easy to use.

IMG_4320All you need to do is just dip your finger on the pre-cut foam or sponge. Then, twist your fingers and make sure that your nails touch the foam. The foam here serves as the cotton for regular nail polish remover.

This is by far, the easiest polish remover I have ever used. It is very efficient to use. One dip and your nail polish is gone in a matter of seconds. It does contain acetone but I did not feel any drying on my skin at all.

I also love that it doesn’t have that overwhelming, acetone scent that you usually get from other removers. If you hate the scent but you need acetone for your nails, give this one a shot.

I truly am amazed by this product but there are some cons that I think you should consider before buying this. First, it’s a liquid remover that comes in a tub. Not the most travel-friendly kind. Second, you clearly can’t use this for your toenails. Unless you have feet as small as a baby’s. Then, you just may be able to dip your toes in the tub. But, it still won’t be very hygienic which leads me to my last con. The sponge gets dirtier and dirtier everytime you use it. Here is what mine looks now after my 5th use.

This is, not a doubt, not for the germophobes!
Before I share my final thoughts on this tub, here’s another pic showing some more infor you can see on the tub.

Will I repurchase it?

Maybe! But not in the near future. Honestly, I just bought a regular nail polish remover a few days ago. 🙂

I would strongly recommend this if:

  1. You want a super fun way of removing your nail polish
  2. You want an efficient way to remove your nail polish
  3. You need moisturizing polish remover
  4. You are not a Germophobe.
  5. All of the above.

I got this for only $1.49 at Kroger so for its price point, I’d say, give it a shot! After all, you don’t know what you’d love until you give it a try.
