HAPPY NEW YEAR DOLLS!
I can’t believe another year has started and soon it will be Christmas again.
It’s a new year so I thought it would be the prefect time to introduce a new blog segment.
One of the blogs/vids that are always requested from me is swatches of products from different brands. So, this year, I am adding a new segment that I shall call, Swatch Watch. If that’s too cheesy for you, then, what do you think would be a better title? Feel free to drop them on the comment section below.
This segment will feature swatches of HGs and New Releases from different brands – drugstore and high end. I may also share my initial thoughts on the product (s) but that’s a big MAY. If you have products you have been dying to see the swatches of, leave me a comment below so I can check them out for you.
Our first ever Swatch Watch features MakeUp For Ever’s Lustrous Artist Rouge Set that I got for Christmas.
The packaging and the label will already make you drool. This retails at $24 and you get 4 deluxe sized artist rouge lipsticks. Keep scrolling to see more pictures and hopefully they help you decide if this set deserves a slot in your vanity area.
You will see the shades you will get inside through the picture on the box. So, you should know what to expect.
The shades I got are C407, M401, C211 and M100. The first letter on each code represents the finish of the lipstick – C means creme (creamy finish) and M is for matte. I still think MUFE’s naming convention is kinda weird.
Here are the swatches of the lipsticks:
I do wanna mention that they claim high pigmentation and 8 (creme) to 10-hour (matte) longevity for these lipsticks on their website.

Based on my experience, C407 can be a little bit patchy and I needed another swipe to even out the color but I’m not mad about the other shades. All 4 colors are super pretty and I love that it has 2 bold colors and 2 nudes.
I am not super impressed with the longevity though. The mattes can last for about 3 to 4 hours (not eating anything) and the creams can last for an hour or two and it transfers big time. It’s not the worst but I can definitely get a more long wearing lipstick at a cheaper price tag.
Like most of you out there, I mix lipsticks too. Here’s how these lipsticks look after my little mixing experiment.
Top color is C407 and M401 mixed and bottom swatch is C211 and M100. C407 and C211 are pretty dominating these combos but both colors definitely look super stunning. I did a wear test on the C407 and M401 combo to see if it’s gonna change the longevity. I have to say, M401 will last longer on its own which I kind of expected because it’s matte and C407 has a creamy finish.
Thank you so much for joining me in our first ever Swatch Watch!
SWatch out for more. 😀
