Today’s Swatch Watch features Nicka K’s True Matte Lip Colors.
“Pucker up! This exceptional lip color is the perfect marriage of the rich payoff of a matte lipstick, and the comfortable glide of a gloss. Saturate lips with one of 18 bold shades and let the color set for a flawless matte lip that lasts!”
I purchased mine when I was in the Philippines. Each lip color cost P199 (around $4). It’s very interesting to see different prices for these depending on what site you are looking at. Their website says $2.99 for each lip color but they’re sold at $5.24 each at Walmart. The best deal I saw online so far is from Sams Beauty which sells these lip colors at $1.99 each. I hope that gives you an idea where to get these in case you want to try them out.
The shades I bought are Santa Fe, Millbrook and Aubergine. Here are some hand and lips swatches to give you an idea if these are right up your alley.
I took all photos under natural lighting to hopefully show you how they actually look on my hand and my lips.
I wouldn’t normally wear these colors but I really wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try new lip colors so I picked these three. I have to say, these colors are really pretty. Each one is different from the other. Santa Fe is a a pretty pinkish nude; Millbrook is a gorgeous purplish color with a touch of Gray and Aubergine is a stunning deep Red lipstick that you can build up for a maroon-ish, almost black lip color. I think they will look beautiful with all skin tones.
Millbrook and Aubergine look more vibrant than Santa Fe but they are also patchier. It took me a few swipes to even out the color on my lips. An important trick for using Millbrook and Aubergine is to let it dry completely. Do not stick your lips together if it’s not completely dry yet or else it will look like this.
I have definitely learned to love dark lip colors which is why I love this color (Aubergine) a lot but I feel that it requires too much work to achieve an even lip color.
There are 15 other shades available from this collection and they all look so stunning.

Quite frankly, this is one of the most lightweight lip formulas I have ever tried, not to mention, it’s also pretty inexpensive but the inconsistent pigmentation was a major let down for me. They are not the worst that I have ever used but they are definitely not my fave.
The other shades from the collection might be better than the ones I got so I will keep you guys posted once I get to try those.
I hope these swatches gave you an idea if these deserve a space in your lipstick drawer.
Thank you so much for swatching with me again! Feel free to let me know in the comment section below what you want me to swatch for you next time.
