Hanalei Powder Cleanser Review

Sunday Sample Day features Hanalei Papaya Enzyme Powder Cleanser.

It’s unlike any other but does it do the job or is it pure gimmick?

I got this 5-pc sample pack from an Ipsy bag and was immediately intrigued by the product. I have never seen or use anything like it so I was not sure what to expect.

Product Description:

Hanalei’s Papaya Enzyme Powder Face Cleanser is a unique, water-activated formula that gently removes impurities while leaving your face bright and soft. This product is ideal for all skin types, even sensitive skin. This cleanser restores the skin back to a 5.5 pH balance, the optimal pH level for healthy skin. Grapefruit seed oil and papaya enzyme naturally exfoliates dull skin and helps clarify the complexion.

How To Use:

The sample didn’t have any instructions on it so I just looked this up on their website.

Pour a pea sized amount of powder onto hands. Add water and rub hands to create a foamy lather. Apply the foam cleanser onto the face. Rinse off with warm water.

Not rocket science! You basically do the same thing you do with other facial cleansers. This one is just in a powder form so you need to add water to achieve the foamy texture and then apply it on your face.

The sample does not say a lot of things about the product so if you are like me who wants to know what you put on your face first before you actually put them on, a research is required. It wasn’t difficult to find the product details. Just head over to their site and you should see everything you need. Here’s a link to this product’s page to make it easier for you 😉 : https://www.hanaleicompany.com/products/papaya-enzyme-powder-cleanser

I do wanna mention that the packaging will tell you that each sample pack weighs 1g or 0.03 oz. On their site, this product is available in a travel set which cost $20 and contains 14 one-gram packets and a 60-gram container which cost $35.

Like what I said, I did my research before using this product on my face. I used 3 sample packets before I drafted this review. the 1st time I used it, I followed the instructions on their site. I poured half of a packet, add some water, rubbed my hands and then apply it on my face. It did get foamy but I want a lot of foam from my facial wash. I ended up using the entire packet.

img_6682The next day I used it again, this time I applied half of the packet to my damp face. I rubbed it on my face (kinda like a scrub) and that actually worked out well. For some weird reasons, I didn’t feel the need to use more powder so I used the other half the next day. I have very dry cheeks area so recently, I only use facial cleanser/wash before I go to sleep.

On the 4th day of using this product, I tried applying the entire pack on my damp face and quite frankly, it just felt too much. There was more foam than I can handle. I don’t know why but it gives me more foam when I apply it to my damp face than when I rub the product with water on my hands.

I have never experienced anything like this before. It was such a refreshing experience! It was as refreshing as my face felt after using this cleanser. It really weirded me out at first but I am obsessed with this product now!

Took this photo right after I washed my face.

My face looked clearer and smoother after using this product. It felt so fresh and clean without drying my skin. I also didn’t have any breakouts after using this product. I would often see little bumpies on my face whenever I use new products. But this was very gentle on my skin. Lastly, my skin felt unbelievably tight! I hope this picture gives justice to its performance.

I love that this is very travel friendly. It is so convenient to carry with you. You can slip a packet or two in your travel bags for your staycations or sleepovers at your friend’s. I strongly recommend you buy the set if you travel a lot but it makes more sense to use the 60-gram container at home rather than opening tiny packets every day. Or you can buy both! 🙂

I honestly don’t know how I feel about the pricetag. You do get 14 packets in a set and each packet could be good for 2 to 3 uses which means a set could last you 28 to 42 uses.

Is it worth investing on? Sure! If you are like me who uses a cleanser once a day, 20 bucks for around 6 weeks is not that bad at all. It isn’t your most inexpensive option in the market but still not bad especially for the quality of the product. If you plan to use it twice a day then that would be a totally different story. If you have that extra 20 bucks to invest on a powder cleanser every month, go for it! I think it’s totally worth it.

Are the samples enough to make me love the product? Absolutely! I fell in love with it the 1st time I used it. It just makes my face look and feel fresh, clean and youthful.

Would I purchase the full size? Yes! I loved my samples a lot that I wanna experience it more.
