So, I was in the mood to go crazy on my keyboard today and I thought, why not try a product I’ve never used before and share my first impressions right away through a blog.
Today, March 7, 2018, I tried Garnier’s Whole Blends Repairing Hair Mask. I got this from Walmart (I think) for around $5.
AQUA / WATER / EAU CETEARYL ALCOHOL BEHENTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE AMODIMETHICONE CANDELILLA CERA / CANDELILLA WAX / CIRE DE CANDELILLA CETYL ESTERS GLYCERIN MEL / HONEY / MIEL ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL OIL ROYAL JELLY TRIDECETH-6 ALOE BARBADENSIS / ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE ALCOHOL PROPOLIS EXTRACT ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL HYDROXYPROPYL GUAR CITRIC ACID PHENOXYETHANOL CHLORHEXIDINE DIHYDROCHLORIDE CETRIMONIUM CHLORIDE CI 15985 / YELLOW 6 CI 19140 / YELLOW 5 PARFUM / FRAGRANCE COUMARIN LIMONENE BENZYL ALCOHOL BENZYL SALICYLATE
HOW TO USE :
After shampooing with our Repairing shampoo, apply a generous amount of treatment to hair. Gently work through hair, making sure to cover ends. Wait 3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
First of, you get 10.1 Fl. Oz. (300 mL) of product which I believe is such a great deal! I originally wanted to pick up the hair mask from L’Oreal because they have the same price but decided to buy this one from Garnier because you get more product than L’Oreal’s.
This actually smells pretty good! It smells the same as the shampoo and conditioner from this collection which I also like. The consistency looks and feels very similar to conditioners but a little softer yet way thicker.
Application was super easy! Not rocket science at all! I just apply this all over my hair after shampooing and left it on for 8 minutes. They do recommend that you use their shampoo from the same line which I did. I actually like their Repair Shampoo and Conditioner. I think I have included those in my Empties video last year. If I did, I’ll link it below so you can see the rest of my empties last year.
I apply hair masks on my roots as well but I don’t go crazy on the amount because my hair can get really oily and hair masks sometimes make my hair greasy. So I usually am more generous on the tips than the roots.
The instructions say leave it on for about 3 minutes but since my hair is pretty damaged due to constant hair dyeing, I always leave hair masks a little longer than instructed.
I usually watch some YouTube videos in the bathroom while waiting for my hair to cook but today, I put my shower on pause to grab a peanut butter sandwich and enjoyed it while watching some HULU until my timer went off.
And, YES! That is a Kroger bag on my head because I couldn’t find any shower cap. #BeingResourceful
After 8 minutes, I just rinsed it off! It was super easy to wash off. It’s pretty much like washing off your conditioner.
These photos were taken yesterday. I intended to use these for a different blog but I thought of including these here so we have before photos.
My hair absolutely felt so soft after I rinsed it off. It was unbelievably soft that I just used my hands to comb my hair. I did blow dry my hair on the pictures below but if you want me to add pictures of my air-dried hair after using this product, let me know in the comment section.
P.S. My hair looks so Red in these pictures because our bathroom lights are Yellow but check the before photos to see my hair color under natural lighting.
Obviously, I will have to use it some more to see if it actually helps repair my hair. I do have split ends here and there but my main issue with my hair right now is the dryness of my tips because I dye my hair constantly. After using it today, I don’t see any drastic improvement on my ends yet but then again, this is a first impressions blog so to be fair with the brand and the product, I will use it some more and update this blog after a few weeks. I will share with you everything noteworthy! If this didn’t do anything to my hair, I’d still let you know! Pinky promise! So check back in after a few weeks or follow me on Instagram because I hang out there every day!
For now, if you are just looking for an inexpensive hair mask from the drugstore that will soften your hair, this is definitely a top recommendation!
My hair feels so soft! I have not combed or brushed my hair today but I can’t stop touching it!
That wraps up today’s First Impression blog. Let me know if you wanna see more blogs like this and comment below any product you want me to do a First Impression blog on.
I hope you find this helpful. 🙂
