My 1st Becca purchase and I am disappointed!

I have been eyeing a lot of Becca Cosmetics products for years but haven’t really convinced myself to splurge until I saw this collab with Chrissy Teigen. I love her, I heard so many great things about her Glow Face Palette last year and the shades in this collab are calling me! They all look so stunning and so perfect for my skin tone. I finally gave in and bought the Endless Bronze and Glow at Ulta.com for $38.
A few days later, I received the package in the mail and I couldn’t be more excited!
You’ll get the product in a typical Becca packaging which may not be too exciting for others but it was for me because this was my 1st Becca baby. I opened it and it was more beautiful than I imagined it. I had to stare at it for a few minutes before I started swatching them. Each shade felt very creamy and they looked beautiful on the arm swatches. I’m blown away by its blinding glow!
Then it got me thinking.. WAIT A MINUTE! ARE THESE ALL HIGHLIGHTERS?
I felt like the powders are too small to use individually but it can’t be all highlighters right? I honestly wasn’t so sure how to use it so I went to Sephora’s website and read their HOW TO USE section and this is what they suggest :
- For effortless, sunkissed skin, just swirl, bronze, and glow.
- For the ultimate après beach glow, contour cheekbones with Aloha Bronze.
- Apply Beach Nectar to the apples of the cheeks.
- Highlight with Moonstone.
I tried each of their suggestion but I still ended up feeling so disappointed and frustrated.
Without a doubt, it will give you a beautiful glow by swirling your brush on all three shades or using it individually. Moonstone alone is an amazing highlighter and Aloha Bronze will give you a stunning glow especially when you have medium to deep skin.
My problem is, the blush and the bronzer were struggling to show up on my skin. I honestly thought this would work perfectly for me because I am very tan but I just could not see it. I tried building it up but it took quite a lot of time and product before it finally showed up on my skin. By the time it did show up, I was looking veeeeeeery highlighted!
I love blinding highlighters but this one seeped into the fine lines under my eyes and accentuated them which I am not a big fan of. I also noticed it emphasizing my pores which is another no no for me.
As a highlighter, I was WOWed! I think Becca highlighters never disappoint. As a blush and a bronzer, not my favorite! I feel like Beach Nectar is too frosty to be a blush and I’d rather use Aloha Bronze as a highlighter than a bronzer. I got more payoff from my 12-dollar NYX bronzer, 8-dollar ColourPop bronzer and 6-dollar NYC bronzer.
For it’s price, it’s just not worth it! So, I returned it a few days later. I am sad and disappointed that it didn’t work for me. I sure hope it works for others.
Have you tried this before? Did it work for you? Let me know in the comments section.
